CR 91-169 Gambling License - Hopkins Jayceesr 1 Y- O O y_. 5 O P K July 31, 1991 Report #91 -169 GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION BY THE HOPKINS JAYCEES Proposed Action. Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that the Hopkins City Council adopt Resolutions #91 -101, 91 -102, and 91 -103 approving the gambling license applications of the Hopkins Jaycees. I Adoption of this motion will allow the applications to be considered by the Minnesota Department of Gaming. Overview. The Hopkins Jaycees have requested gambling licenses for 1991 -92. These are renewals of the licenses the Hopkins Jaycees currently hold. Gambling will be conducted at the Mainstreet Bar & Grill, Lindee's, and Mitch's Tavern. Primary Issues to Consider. • Do these applications meet the criteria of the City's gambling policy? Yes. • Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in accordance with state and local laws? Yes. Alt rnatives: 1) Approve Resolutions #91 -101, 91 -102, and 91 -103. This will result in the applications being considered by the Department of Gaming. 2) Do not approve the Resolutions. This will result in the Department of Gaming turning down the licenses. Genellie, City Clerk C CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 91-101 WHEREAS, the Hopkins Jaycees have been an integral part of the Hopkins Community, and WHEREAS, the Hopkins Jaycees have applied for a gambling license to conduct lawful gambling at the Mainstreet Bar & Grill, and WHEREAS, the Hopkins Jaycees have conducted gambling activities in accordance with state law and Hopkins city policy, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Hopkins hereby approves the Hopkins Jaycees gambling application. • Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 6th day of August, 1991.
