sanitary lift stations in need of reconstruction or repair. Among
these is the Meadowbrook Road Station where past remodeling efforts
have made inspection and maintenance difficult. A Meadowbrook
reconstruction project was identified in the City's CIP and authorized
as a capital improvement. Plan and specifications were prepared by
RCM Associates, Inc., and the bidding process is completed. Sealed
bids were opened,August 2, and a tabulation is found below:
Gilbert Mechanical Contractors $ 88,700.00
Jedlicki Inc. 89,038.00
Penn Contracting Inc. 89,900.00
New Mech 92,800.00
Ryan Construction 112,000.00
Engineer's Estimate 92,000.00
The low bidder is Gilbert Mechanical Contractors. RCM Associates has
checked the bids and reviewed the qualifications of Gilbert.
Primary Issu to Consider.
• Should the award be made to Gilbert Mechanical Contractors?
Gilbert is a qualified bidder and competent contractor who
will complete the project.
• Is the bid reasonable?
The bid is $3300 lower than the engineer's estimate. Staff
recommends award of bid to Gilbert.
