Proposed Action.
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that the
Hopkins City Council adopt Resolution #91 -132 approving the gambling
license application of the George R. Wolff VFW #425.
Adoption of this motion will allow the application to be considered by
the Minnesota Department of Gaming.
Overview.
The George R. Wolff VFW #425 has requested a gambling license for
1992. This is a renewal of the license the VFW currently holds.
Gambling will be conducted at 100 Shady Oak Road.

o Does this application meet the criteria of the City's gambling
policy?
Yes.
o Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in
accordance with state and local laws?
Yes.
Alternatives:
1) Approve Resolution #91 -132. This will result in the
application being considered by the Department of Gaming.
2) Do not approve the Resolution. This will result in the
Department of Gaming turning down the license.
Staff recommends Alternative #1.

WHEREAS, the George R. Wolff VFW #425 has been an integral part of the
Hopkins Community, and
WHEREAS, the George R. Wolff VFW #425 has applied for gambling license to
conduct lawful gambling in 1992, and
WHEREAS, the George R. Wolff VFW #425 has conducted gambling activities in
accordance with state law and Hopkins city policy,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Hopkins hereby approves the George R. Wolff VFW #425 gambling application.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 5th day of November, 1991.
