GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION BY
THE AMERICAN LEGION
Report #91 -256
Proposed Action.
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that the
Hoskins Cit Council ado •t Resolution ;91 -143 a••rovin• the •amblin•
license application of the American Legion.
Adoption of this motion will allow the application to be considered by
the Minnesota Department of Gaming.
The American Legion has requested a gambling license for 1992. This
is a renewal of the license the Legion currently holds. Gambling will
be conducted at 10 12th Avenue South.
Primary Issues to Consider.
Does this application meet the criteria of the City's gambling
policy?
Yes.
Has the organization conducted its past gambling activities in
accordance with state and local laws?
Yes.
1) Approve Resolution #91 -143. This will result in the
application being considered by the Department of Gaming.
2) Do not approve the Resolution. This will result in the
Department of Gaming turning down the license.

WHEREAS, the American Legion has been an integral part of the Hopkins
Community, and
WHEREAS, the American Legion has applied for gambling license to conduct
lawful gambling in 1992, and
WHEREAS, the American Legion has conducted gambling activities in accordance
with state law and Hopkins city policy,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Hopkins hereby approves the American Legion gambling application.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 19th day of November,
1991.
