CR2009-026 Approve Extension of Assessing Services ContractApril 17, 2009 Council Report 2009 -026
APPROVE EXTENSION OF
ASSESSING SERVICES CONTRACT
Proposed Action
Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move approval of extending the
Contract with Hennepin County for the provision of Assessing Services.
This action will extend the assessing contract with Hennepin County for another four years.
Overview
Hennepin County has been providing assessing services for Hopkins since 2004. At that time staff
estimated that the annual savings to the City would be approximately $75,000. Six years later, staff
estimates that the annual savings are still in the $75,000 - $80,000 range.
Hennepin County has also provided good service to the City and its residents.
The current contract expires on July 31, 2009. The contract allows for a four year extension. Staff
recommends that the City Council authorize this extension.
