PURPOSE
To recognize Ellen McCarthy with a Certificate of Appreciation.
INFORMATION
On April 28, 2026, Ellen McCarthy was jogging south on Hopkins Crossroads near the
train tracks.
She looked over the bridge and noticed Christopher Hastings lying in the fetal position
down by the tracks. She went down the hill, though the woods, to check on him. She
found that he had a head injury and called 911. Ellen stayed on scene until Paramedics
took Chris away on the stretcher.
If it were not for Ellen's keen eye and willingness to help a stranger, this call likely would
have ended very differently.
