RECOMMENDED ACTION
MOTION TO adopt a Proclamation Celebrating Disability Pride Month in Hopkins.
OVERVIEW
Disability Pride Month is observed each July to recognize the diversity, accomplishments,
and lived experiences of people with disabilities. The month commemorates the passage
of the Americans with Disabilities Act and celebrates the ongoing efforts to remove
barriers and expand opportunities for all.
People with disabilities contribute to every aspect of our communities—as neighbors,
employees, business owners, students, educators, artists, public servants, and leaders.
Disability Pride Month encourages us to recognize those contributions and to continue
building communities that value accessibility, inclusion, and belonging.
Tonight, the City of Hopkins is proud to recognize Disability Pride Month and celebrate
the important role people with disabilities play in strengthening our community.
