CR 09-037 Approve a Temporary Liquor License for the Elks Lodge 30 8th Ave South (Rib Contest): p qF: April 29, 2009 Council Report 2009 -037 Approve a Temporary Liquor License for the Elks Lodge. 30 8 th Ave S Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: approve a temporary liquor license for the Elks Lodge 30 8 th Ave S from 1000 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on August 15 2009 Overview The Elks Lodge is applying for a temporary liquor license for their annual Rib contest. They will have a tent in the parking lot for the event. In the past, they have used their Club License to serve alcohol in the parking lot. The lot is part of their contiguous license area. However, they would like to take out the temporary license and dispense with the member /guest sign in book that they are required to use under their regular club license. Alternatives • Approve the temporary license for August 15, 2009 • Deny the temporary license • Continue for additional information Staff recommends that the Council approve the temporary license. The first one is July 17 — July 19,2009. This is our Raspberry days event where we sell food & liquor and hold bingo for 2 %Z days. We have a huge tent covering the food & bingo area on the North & West side of our building. Then the second event is our Rib Contest which is held August 15 , 2009.
