RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NA1~IE OF° EICCELSYOR AVEN~JE EAST/
SECOND STREET 30ZJTH TO EY~CELSIOR EOZJLEVARD
NIiEREAB® Excelsior Avenue East/Second Street South, also
commonly known as County Road 3, its easterly terminus in Hopkins
being its junction with Meadowbrook Road, its westerly terminus
being its junction with Shady Oak Roada and
NHEREAS® there is confusion generated by these names and
their address numbering system being unlike the name and
numbering system used in all other segments of County Road 3e and
~lIiEREA3® Hennepin County Public Works and the United States
Postal Service have requested a name and address numbering change
in conjunction with proposed roadway upgrades and to eliminate
mail delivery difficulties; and
T~PHEREASo the City Council deems it in the interest of the
general public welfare that the name of Excelsior Avenue
East/Second Street South be changed within the City of Hopkins.
NONo THEREFOREB HE YT RESOLVED HY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HOPICINS, MINNESOTAe
1. The proposed Ordinance No. 96-'789 is hereby
recommended for approval.
2. A copy of this resolution and Ordinance No. 96-789 shall
be filed with the Hennepin County Engineer, the
Hennepin County Auditoro the United States Postal
Service at Hopkins, Minnesota, the City of Minnetonka,
the City of St. Louis Park, and such other officials as
the city engineer of the City of Hopkins may deem
necessary or appropriate to accomplish the purposes
thereof.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota,
this 20th day of August, 1996.
