RESOLUTION OUTLINING FINDINGS WHICH DETERMINE THAT A
DISCRETIONARY ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET IS REQUIRED
FOR THE RAMSGATE TOWNHOUSE PROJECT
WHEREAS, Mark .Z. Jones has applied for
permit to construct 12 townhomes
Cambridge and Hiawatha Avenue.

WHEREAS, a petition was received on March 28, 1991
requesting that an Environmental Assessment Worksheet
be prepared for the proposed townhouse project.
WHEREAS, the proposed townhouse project does not meet or
exceed the thresholds for a mandatory EAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins is the responsible governmental
unit that will determine if a discretionary EAW should
be undertaken.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOPKINS
THAT A DISCRETIONARY EAW IS REQUIRED TO BE UNDERTAKEN
FOR THE RAMSGATE TOWNHOUS PROJECT DUE TO THE FOLLOWING
FINDINGS:
1. That the construction 12 townhomes on 1.54 acres
of land may cause significant destruction of
wildlife habitat.
2. That the subject property may be a significant
sound barrier between Trunk Highway No. 7 and the
Minnehaha Oak Subdivision.
3. That the. loss of the trees on the subject site may
cause significant environmental effects.
Adopted by the Council this 2nd day of April, 1991.
