RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS

WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice published and given
as required by law, the City Council of the City of Hopkins
has met and heard on Tuesday, September 20, 1988, and passed
upon all objections to the proposed assessments for the
improvement of various _streets, avenues, and thoroughfares
and miscellaneous improvements in the City of Hopkins, all
as more fully set forth and described in Exhibit "A"
attached to Resolution No. 88-73 adopted the 16th day of
August, 1988, and
WHEREAS, each of said improvements as set forth in
Exhibit "A" hereto attached, were presented and considered
by said Council separately at said meeting and each
separately accepted and adopted by unanimous vote of said
Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
HOPKINS, MINNESOTA as follows:
1. Such proposed assessments, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof and hereby accepted
and shall constitute the special assessments against the
lands therein named and each tract of land therein included
is hereby found to be benefitted by the proposed improvement
in the amount of the assessment levied against it.
2. Such assessments shall be payable in equal, annual
installments extending over the periods of years set forth
in the Schedule of Assessments, the first of the
installments to be paid with the real estate taxes due and
payable in 1989. Any deferred installments shall bear
interest at the rate as set forth in said Schedule of
Assessments from the 1st day of October, 1988. To the
first' installments shall be added interest on the entire
respective assessment from October 1, 1988 until December
31, 1989. To subsequent installments, when due, shall be
added interest for one year on all unpaid installments.
3. The owner of any property so assessed may at
anytime after the adoption of the assessments and before
November 15, pay the whole of the assessments against any
parcel to the City Manager, and no interest shall be charged
if the entire assessment is paid before November 15. Also,
the owner of the property may at anytime thereafter, except
between November 15 and December 31 of each year, pay to the
City Manager, the entire amount of the assessment remaining
unpaid.
4. The Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified
duplicate or duplicates of these assessments to the Hennepin
County Auditor to be extended on the proper tax lists of the
County, and such assessments shall be collected and paid
over the same manner as other municipal taxes.
Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of
Hopkins, Minnesota, this 20th day of September, 1988.

1. Project 87-01 Installation of fire protection sprinkler
system at 21 Harrison Avenue North, the area proposed to
be assessed being Lots 14, 15 and 16 and that part of
Lot 17 lying SEly of NWly 15 ft. thereof incl. adj. 1/2
of alley vac. and adj. 1/2 of st. vac. 4/67, West
Minneapolis Center (P.I.D. 19-117-21 31 0043), and the
total cost for the project being $34,860.
2. Project 87-02 Fire hydrant installation at 1002-2nd
street Northeast, the area proposed to be assessed being
Tract M and that part of Tracts P and L Reg Land Survey
No. 561 lying NEly of a line run from a point on the
NWly line of said Tract P a dis of 66.79 ft SWly from
the most Nly cor of said Tract P to a point on the Sly

4. 87-07 Installation of a water main extension, the area
proposed to be assessed being that part of NW 1/4 of SW
1/4 desc as beg at a pt on N line thof dist 250.82 ft E
from the intersection of said N line with SEly r/w line
of C.M. st. P & PRy, th SWly to a pt on a line drawn
SEly at rials to said r/w line and dist 150 ft from said

along the extension of the S line of Tract A, R.L.S. No.
610 to W line of SE 1/4 of SE 1/4, th N along said W
line dis 398 ft th E 168 ft th S 90 ft. th E to W line
of 20th Avenue South, th S along 20th Ave. So. to N line
of R.L.S. No. 610, th W to NW cor of Tract A, R.L.S. No.
610 th S to pt. of beg., ex road Sec 23 T 117 R 22,
total cost being $35,259.
6. 88-01 Installation of a sprinkler system for fire
protection at 10-12th Avenue South, the area proposed
to be assessed being Lots 7 and 8, including 1/2 of
vacated alley, Block 8, West Minneapolis (24-117-22 34
0085); total cost being $35,196.
7. 88-02 Installation of a sprinkler system for fire
protection at 907-915 Hopkins Center, the area proposed
to be assessed being Tract C, Tract D, Tract E and
Tract F, Registered Land Survey No. 953 (P.I.D. 24-117-
22 31 0003, 24-117-22 31 0004, 24-117-22 31 0005, 24-117
22 31 0006); total cost being $24,234.
8. 88-03 Installation of a sprinkler system for fire
protection at 901 Mainstreet, the area proposed to
be assessed being Lot 10, Block 68, West Minneapolis
Second Division (P.I.D. 24-117-22 31 0014); total cost
being $19,482.75.

9. 88-05 Installation of a sprinkler system for fire
protection at 1410 Mainstreet, the area proposed to
be assessed being the property commencing at a pt
in the S line of Excelsior Avenue 389 ft W from E
line of SW 1/4 of SW 1/4, th W along said S line a
dis of 239 4/10 ft th S 350 ft par with the Eline

10. 88-09 Construction of a parking ramp at 26-10th Avenue
South, the area proposed to be assessed being 1011 First
Street South described as Lots 14, 15 & 16, also Lots 18
through 22 incl said Blk 6 & th S 15 ft of Lot 23 said
Blk 6 incl the adj 1/2 of the vac alley (24-117-22 34
0123) and Lot 17 incl 1/2 vac alley (24-117-22 34 0049)
total cost being $391,998 for construction and $12,000
for annual maintenance.
11. Stump removal at 1020 Oakridge Road, N 80 ft of SE 1/4
of NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 except road, Sec 13 T 117 R 22
(13-117-22 42 0012), total cost being $271.00.
12. Tree removal at l25-l2th Avenue South, Lot 12, Block
10, West Minneapolis (24-117-22 34 0108), total cost
being $511.20.
13. Weed removal at 633-8th Avenue South, Lot 16, Block 61
West Minneapolis (P.I.D. 25-117-22 13 0075) and Lot 15
Block 61, West Minneapolis (P.I.D. 25-117-22 13 0074),
total cost being $104.00.
14. Snow removal at 805 Mainstreet, Lot 9, Block 67, West
Minneapolis 2nd Division (P.I.D. 24-117-22 42 0067),
total cost being $130.20.
15. Delinquent utility bill at 402-l0th Avenue North, Lot
3 and that part of Lot 2 lying S of N 19-6/10 ft
thereof, Block 105, West Minneapolis Second Division
(P.I.D. 24-117-22 21 0006), total cost being $332.00.
16. Delinquent utility bill at 1702 Mainstreet, North 122
ft of Lots 6, 7 and the E 25 ft of Lot 5, Block 2,
Boulevard Manor (P.I.D. 23-117-22 44 0036), total
cost being $396.60.
17. Delinquent utility bill at 25-9th Avenue North, N 40
ft of Lot 18, Block 67, West Minneapolis 2nd
Division (P.I.D. 24-117-22 42 0075), total cost
being $346.50.
18. Delinquent utility bill at 221-l3th Avenue North,
