would be funded by CBDG funds and the remainder could come from
the City real estate fund.
There was discussion at the last budget meeting of funding a
secretary for the community Center in the 1988 budget. The City
Manager stated that he would like to do some research of other
senior community centers to determine if this expenditure is
appropriate.
After some discussion, Mr. Kritzler moved and Mr. Anderson
seconded the motion to budget for a 1/2 time secretary for the
Community Center in case the research shows that a secretary is
n eded. If the secretary is not needed, the money would not be
xpended. A poll of the vote was as follows: Mr. Redepenning,
Aye; Mr. Kritzler, Aye; Mr. Shirley, Nay; Mayor Mi1bert, Nay.

to explain that it was necessary to bring these salaries in line
with the surrounding communities in order to fill the positions.
Hugh Strawn requested that a car be budgeted for the Fire Chief.
The City Manager did not approve this expenditure in the proposed
budget. Mr. Strawn explained that the Fire Chief is required to
do a lot of traveling in line with his position. The Council
