10-21-1986 Resolutions . CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO: 86-62 RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO 86-6 WHEREAS, an application for a Conditional Use Permit CUP86-6 has been made by Reuter Inc., 410 - 11 th Avenue South, to construct an office/warehouse addition. WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as follows: 1. That an application for Conditional Use Permit was filed with the City of Hopkins on July 3, 1986. 2. That the Hopkins Planning Commission reviewed such application on September 30, 1986. 3. That the Hopkins Planning Commission, pursuant to mailed notices, held a public hearing on July 29, 1986 and continued to September 30" 1986: all persons present at the hearing were given an opportunity to be heard. 4. That the written comments and analysis of the City Staff and the Planning Commission were considered. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hopkins City Council makes the following Findings of Fact in respect to CUP86-6: tit 1. That the proposed addition meets the minimum requirements for the 1-2 District. 2. That the proposed additions meet the requirements for a Conditional Use Permit. BE CUP86-6 is conditions: IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that hereby approved subject to application for the following 1. That the project is subject to Watershed District approval. 2 . That the pro ject is sub ject to approval of the City Engineer. Adopted this 21st day of October, 1986. Ellen Lavin, Mayor t CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO: 86-65 RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE VN86-12 WHEREAS, an application has been made by Naegele Washington Avenue South, to remain exceeding the 15 foot for a Variance entitled VN86-12 Outdoor Advertising, Inc, 140 allow an existing billboard to height limit. WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as follows: . 1. That an application for Variance VN86-12was filed with the City of Hopkins on September 2, 1986. 2. That the Hopkins Planning Commission reviewed such application on September 30, 1986. 3. That the Hopkins Planning Commission, pursuant to mailed notices, held a public hearing on September 30, 1986; all persons present at the hearing were given an opportunity to be heard. 4. That the written comments and analysis of the City Staff and the Planning Commission were considered. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hopkins City Council makes the following Findings of Fact in respect to VN86-12: , 1. That a unique circumstance is present due to the height of the overpass. 2. A hardship exists due to the height of the overpass which dictates the height of a billboard to be visible from Highway 18. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that application for Variance VN86-12 is hereby approved subject to the following conditions: 1. To retain sign at present size and location. 2. To accept offer by Naegele to prohibit advertising of alcohol and tobacco. 3. dvert ising of City of Hopkins to be maintained on the sign with City approval A~__~_~ ~~~_ ~4_~ ~_.. _~ n_~_h__ 'na~ . . :1 """' ...... ..... ~ "4 CITY OF HOPKINS H nnepin County, Minn sota Resolution No. 86-68 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING DICK WILSON FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF HOPKINS WHEREAS, Dick Wilson has worked for the City of Hopkins from October 16, 1961 to the present, serving as Park and Recreation Director, and WHEREAS, over that period, Dick has worked unselfishly to improve the recreation programs and facilities available to the community, and WHEREAS, Dick's excellence in his field was recently demonstrated by his receipt of the Outstanding Professional Award of the Great Lakes Regional Council of the National Recreation and Park Association, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to recognize Dick's outstanding service to the oommunity. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hopkins City Counoil hereby oommends Dick Wilson for his twenty-five y ars of dedioated serve to the City of Hopkins, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that he be presented with this Resolution as a demonstration of the City's sincere appreoiation. CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 86- 69 APPROVING AND RATIFYING ALL PREVIOUS ACTIONS OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Hopkins being duly formed and recognized as a validly existing Commission pursuant to the Ordinances of the City of Hopkins; and WHEREAS, the members of said CommIssion have transacted and conducted certaIn affairs of the City as empowered and directed to perform from time to time by the City of Hopkins; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Hopkins deems It desirable to ratify, approve and confirm the aforementioned actions of the Planning and Zoning Commission conducted from time to time. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all business heretofore transacted be and hereby is in all respects approved and that all actions, recommendations, motions and resolutions taken or authorized by the Planning and Zoning Commission prior to the date of adoption of this resolution by the City Council be and they. are in all respects approved, adopted, ratified or confirmed.
