Re: Proposed Street Llght
The City Council on June 5, 1984 recelved a request to conslder the
lnstallation of a street light on 19th Avenue South at the East-West alley
south of Excelslor Avenue. The request was referred to the Clty Englneer
for study.
.
The proposed locatlon is in the vicinity of the Pines Trailer Park.
The East-West alley separates the commercial area north of the alley from
the residential area south of the alley. A street light would enhance the
safety of persons and property by reducing the dark condition. There are
no sidewalks on 19th Avenue and the street is used for on-street parklng,
especially on the trailer park side. A light would increase pedestrian
safety.
We recommend for Council consideration the installation of a 100
watt high pressure sodium street light which would be mounted on an exist-
ing pole and owned and operated by NSP. The cost to the City would be
$9. 15/month.
Respectfully submitted,
