Bid for alleys
August 21, 1984
To: Mr. Craig, City Manager
From: Gordon Anderson ~~~
Re: Bid for alley construction
Bids were received August 17 for construction of two alleys. Seven bids were
received. The low bid was from Standard Sidewalk, Inc.
Standard Sidewalk has never had a contract with Hopkins before. We have checked
with others he has worked for and found the following:
City of Richfield 13 alleys 1984 - good contractor
St. Louis Park - small contractor - does a real good job
Robbinsdale - good contractor. Also worked with Minnegasco
for walk repair in major main installation under
walk
Golden Valley lot of work through the years - reliable
Minneapolis sidewalk contractor 31 of last 32 years
Based on the above, we recommend award of contract to Standard Sidewalk, Inc.
