'I see that Ryan Winkler is getting some press regarding the Governor's tactics. Anyway, I wanted towrite to you to let you know to look for a great application for the Youth position on the Hopkins .Human Rights Commission. My daughter's close friend Riley Be in has recently applied for this position. She is a Hopkins; student entering her Senior year next year. AS a former Golaen valrey city councilmember and former council liaison to our Human Rights Commission, l would have loved to have had Riley on our Commission. But you are the lucky one because she lives in Hopkins. I have known her for 4 years and she is incredibly mature, intelligent, analytic, passionate, and a hard worker. She appears to balance school, orchestra, swimming and after school work incredibly well. Most recently she created a Junior High Dare 2 Be Real Anti - racism group; curriculum that wili. be implemented next year. When I asked her why she wanted to serve<she said, " I want to serve on commission to be an ally of minorities and immigrants in my community, to help people develop inter - racial relationships; and to be a partof"developing and strengthening equitable institutions in Hopkins. I'd bring my experience with leadership and anti- racism work with children, passion /drive, experiences as a white person committed to diversity work. I don't know, if the Hopkins councilmembers make the selection. like we do in Golden Valley but she would be an absolutely great choice. If I need to contact someone else please let me know, Hope you have fun summer. plans. Talk to you soon. Scott D.
