RE: Amusement Devices
Dear Madam and Sirs:
You have requested a legal opinion concerning the licensing and operation
of certain amusement devices to be allowed in certain establishments such
as record stores located in the Hopkins commercial dlstrict.
It is my further understanding that these devices are not used for gambling
purposes by the licensees.
It is my opinion that the City cannot prohibit, or deny permits or licenses
for, the operation of arrn.ISement video games, pinball machines, or other
similar coin operated devices located in Record stores or other related
establishments which are situated in the commercial or business zoned
Districts.
