TNT FIRE:
MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
Fire Chief Specken gave a comprehensive overview of the fire that occurred at the TNT building on Tuesday,
May 26.

Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members, Brausen, Youakim, Halverson, Rowan, City Manager Rick Getschow and Fire Chief Dale
Specken
City Manager Getschow presented the Council with the monthly economic development update. There
was discussion on a few of the update items.
City Manager Getschow stated that a second street and utility improvement newsletter for Park Ridge
neighborhood had gone out. This second edition focused entirely on utility service lines.
Council discussed the neighborhood meeting for the Blake school issue. It was decided that the
neighborhood meeting could be scheduled the same night as the City Council work session to be sure
that all council members are able to attend.
City Council discussed a rental license issue on 14 Ave. North in Hopkins. The City Manager will be
providing material related to the issue at that property from the Inspections Department and the Police
Department.

City Manager Getschow stated that the work session for June 9 will begin at the Plaza Apartments as
part of the rental engagement project and will continue at the Elks Club where one of the agenda items
will be 8 Ave LRT station and 8 Ave redevelopment.
With no further business, a motion was made by Youakim, seconded by Brausen to adjourn the meeting. The
motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 pm.
