Police Sergeant's Assoc. ContractAMENDATORY AGREEMENT This AGREEMENT between the Hopkins Police Sergeant's Association and the City of Hopkins shall make certain amendments in the existing contract (signed in 1980) between the parties. The intent of this AGREEMENT is to carry the existing contract, as amended, from January 1, 1982 to December 31, 1983, or until such time thereafter as a new agreement becomes effective. 1 These amendments are as follows: a) Replace page 12 with a new page 12, attached. Only Article XVII is changed. b) Replace Article XXIV with a new Article XXIV, attached. c) Replace Article XXVI with a new (signed) Article XXVI attached. d) Replace Article XXIII with anew Article XXIII, attached. CITY OF HOPKINS: Mayor (..):22 P City Managr K Mv J #J HOPKINS P LICE SERGEANT'S ASSN.: Article XVII INSURANCE The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of One Hundred Thirty -two Dollars ($132) per month per employee toward health, life, and long -term disability insurance during 1982. In addition, the EMPLOYER will con- tribute a dollar amount monthly equal to the monthly cost of the MAMA Prudential single coverage dental insurance policy, effective Feb. 1, 1982, and employees will be enrolled in said dental insurance program. The insurance contrybution for 1983 will be increased by the same per- centage as that granted to Hopkins Patrol Officer. Article XIX- UNIFORM ALLOWANCE -12- Clothing initially furnished_by the City damaged in the line of duty or needing repair through no fault of the EMPLOYEE shall be replaced or repaired by the EMPLOYER._ In the event a full uniform has been.ordered and /or received for a police officer the full servicable uniform shall_be returned to the EMPLOYER for use by other=.police. employees when the police officer leaves the employ of the City. City will "supply all uniforms, except underwear. -17- Article XXIV SALARY AND WAGES Basic monthly rates for the EMPLOYEES covered by this AGREEMENT shall be as follows: 1982 A. SERGEANTS $2401 B. Temporary or Probation- 2281 ary (95% of base) Effective January 1, 1983, there will be an increase in pay sufficient to keep SERGEANT pay (top rate above) 15.9% above "top patrol" rate granted to patrol officers for 1983. EMPLOYER agrees to deduct and transmit such amounts of any Employees Deferred Compensation as employee authorizes and directs in writing. No EMPLOYEE promoted from Patrolman to Sergeant shall be required to take a reduction _in pay. Article XXVI DURATION This AGREEMENT shall be effective as of January 1, 1982, and shall remain in full force and effect until the thirty -first day of December, 1983. EMPLOYEES shall earn vacation leave according to the following schedule: taken. 0 5 years of service 80 hours per year 6 -10 120 hours per year, over 10 years of service -•8 additional hours per year not to exceed 160 hours per year, Effective January 1, 1981: over 25 years of service 200 hours per year Vacatxon_leave may be used as earned, provided _that the City Manager "'shall in each case determine the time when such vacation leave may be EMPLOYEES may accrue vacation leave to a maximum of 150€ of their annual _entitlemlent Any vacation 'leave days-in excess of the amount there- under permitted _to be -accrued may be taken-by the _EMPLOYEE _after proper notice to and consent by the City Manager by absence from a day to day basis, subject, however, to call for:work by the City Manager. Any EMPLOYEE leaving• the municipal_service in good standing'afuer_ -16- giving proper of such termination of employment shall be compensa- ted for all vacation leave accrued to the date of separation. No EMPLOYEE shall be permitted to waive vacation leave for the pur- pose of receiving double pay. AMENDATORY AGREEMENT This AGREEMENT, between the Hopkins Municipal Employee Association and the City of Hopkins, shall make certain amendments in the existing con- tract, as amended Feb. 8, 1978, Dec. 21, 1978, Jan. 23, 1980, and Jan. 2, 1981, between the parties. The intent of these amendments is to carry the existing contract (as amended) from Jan. 1, 1982 to Dec. 31, 1982, or until such time thereafter as a new AGREEMENT becomes effective. These amendments are asrfollows: a) Replace Article XII with a new Article XII, attached. b) Replace Article XVIII with a new (signed) Article XVIII, attached. c) Replace the Hourly Wage Rate, Appendix II, with a new Hourly Wage Rate (attached). In addition it is agreed that the amount provided for the purchase of uniforms for those members historically receiving them, shall be $110.00 per year each, paid directly for said uniforms. P CITY OF HOPKINS ME ?_aa_g/ DATE Article XII INSURANCE The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of $120.00 per month per employee for group health and life insurance, including dependent coverage, and group dental insurance, beginning with the January 1982 insurance premium and through the premium covering the month of December 1982. Article XVIII DURATION This AGREEMENT shall be effective as of January 1, 1982, and shall remain in full force and effect until the thirty -first (31st) day of December 1982, or until such time thereafter as a new AGREEMENT becomes effective. Craig, City ager FOR: HOPKINS MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATION: Off -duty time shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours' pay at one and one -half (1 -1/2) times the employee's base pay rate. An extension or early report to a regularly scheduled shift for Court appearance does not quality the employee for the two (2) hour minimum. ARTICLE XV CALL BACK TIME An employee who is called to duty during his scheduled off -duty time shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours' pay at one and one -half (1 -1/2) times the employee's base pay rate. An extension or early report to a regularly scheduled shift for duty does not qualify the employee for the two (2) hour minimum. ARTICLE XVI WORKING OUT OF CLASSIFICATIONS Employees assigned by the EMPLOYER to assume the full responsibilities and authority of a higher job classification shall receive the salary schedule of the high classification for the duration of the assignment. ARTICLE XVII INSURANCE -12- The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of one hundred nineteen ($119) per month per employee toward health, life, and long -term disability insurance during 1982. In addition, the EMPLOYER will contribute a dollar amount monthly equal to the monthly cost of the MAMA Prudential single coverage dental insurance policy, effective February 1, 1982, and employees will be enrolled in said dental insurance program. ARTICLE XVIII STANDBY PAY Employees required by the EMPLOYER to standby shall be paid for such standby time at the rate of one hours' pay for each hour on standby. ARTICLE XIX UNIFORMS The EMPLOYER shall provide required uniform and equipment items. Employees assigned to the investigative or juvenile function will be provided suit- able, approved apparel by the EMPLOYER. Such apparel shall be purchased and /or replaced at the discretion of the Superintendent. APPENDIX A 1982 1. (a) Employees classified or assigned by the EMPLOYER as Investigators or Juvenile Officers will receive One Hundred dollars ($]00) per month or One Hundred Dollars ($100) pro -rated for less than a full month in addition to their regular wage rate. ARTICLE XXX DURATION This AGREEMENT shall be effective as of January 1,1982, except as herein noted, and shall remain in full force and effect until the thirty -first day of December 1982.
