From: John Strojan, City Engineer
Subject: Supplemental Agreement No. 1 Traffic Control Signal
Highway 7 and CSAH 18 to Agreement No 60833
On July 20, 1982 the City of Hopkins approved Resolution No. 82 -2009,
which involved a cost sharing agreement between Hopkins, St. Louis Park,
Hennepin County and the State of Minnesota for the future traffic signals
at the interchange of County Road 18 and State Highway 7. The Council
adopted the resolution contingent upon an amendatory agreement providing for
Hopkins to pay the total local share of construction, Hennepin County to
maintain the signals and St. Louis Park to pay for the electricity to
operate the signals.
Therefore, the supplementary agreement modifies paragraph 3 to provide that
Hopkins will pay 3.75% of the construction cost which includes the 1.875%
share for St. Louis Park in the original agreement.
The supplementary agreement modifies paragraphs 11 and 12 to provide that
St. Louis Park will provide the electric power supply and electric power
to operate the signals and that the County shall maintain the signals.
The proposed supplementary/agreement includes the contingencies which the
Hopkins City Council included in the original approval.
Respectfully submitted,
John J. Strojan
City Engineer.
