RESOLUTION NO. 81 -2906
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING REPORT AND CALLING
FOR HEARING ON IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 78 -2648 of the Council adopted
January 3, 1978, a report has been prepared by John Strojan, City Engineer,
with reference to Blake Road North from Highway No. 7 to Excelsior Avenue;
Excelsior Avenue from Blake Road to Hawthorne Road; Fifth Avenue South from
Excelsior Avenue to County Road No. 3 by the installation of street lights
thereon and this report was received by the Council on January 20th, 1981.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA,
as follows:
1. THe Council will consider the improvement of such streets in
accordance with the report and the assessment of: Lots 15, 16, 17 and 18, Auditors

Subdivision No. 363; All of Lots 68, 69, 70, 74,/ 76, 77, 81, 82, 83 and 91; Easterly
600 feet of Lots 74, 95 and 97; Westerly 600 feet of Lots 94 and 97; (19- 117 -21 13
0001) Commencing at northeast corner of Lot 92, thence south along east line 178 4/10
feet, thence west at right angles 150 feet, thence north parallel with east line
thereof 103 95/100 feet to northerly line thereof, thence northeasterly along north-
erly line thereof 167 52/100 feet to beginning, except road; (19- 117 -21 13 0017)
That part of Lot 92, Auditors Subdivision No. 239, Hennepin County, Minnesota
described as follows: Beginning at a point on the east line of said Lot 92 a distance
of 178.4 feet south from the northeast corner thereof, thence west at right angles

line of said Lot 92, thence northeasterly to the southeast corner of said Lot, thence

(24- 117 -22 43 0141) That part of 100 foot railroad right of way lying northeasterly of
a line parallel with and 22.58 feet northeasterly from centerline of said right of way
and lying southerly of Excelsior Avenue and westerly of 5th Avenue, also that part of
Southwest Quarter of Southeast Quarter lying northeasterly of said railroad right of
way, Section 24, Township 117, Range 22; That part of the 100 foot right of way of the
Chicago and Northwestern Railroad lying between Excelsior Avenue and County Road No.
3 in Section 24, Township 117, Range 22 for all or a portion of the cost of the
improvement pursuant to M.S.A., Secs. 429.011 to Secs. 429,111, as amended, at an
estimated total cost of the improvement of $140,312.00 for Blake Road; $75,575.00
for Excelsior Avenue and $29,498.00 for 5th Avenue South; and will further consider
the market value before and after said improvement, of the property affected thereby.
2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement on the
21st day of April, 1981, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 7 ;30 o'clock
P.M., and the Clerk shall give published notice of such hearing and improvement as
required by law.
Adopted by the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, this 20th day
of January, 1981.
