RESOLUTION NO. 81 -2914
A-RESOLUTION RECEIVING REPORT AND CALLING
FOR HEARING ON IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 80 -2898 of the Council adopted
December 9, 1980, a report has been prepared by John Strojan, City Engineer
with reference to Tyler Avenue North from Second Street Northeast to St.
Louis Street; St. Louis Street from Tyler Avenue North to Excelsior Avenue;
Jackson Avenue North from Second Street Northeast to St. Louis Street, by
the installation of concrete curb and gutter, street construction and storm
sewer thereon and this report was received by the Council on March 17th, 1981.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA,
as follows:
1. The Council will consider the improvement of such streets in accordance
with the report and the assessment of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad right-
of-way across the Southwest Quarter, except street subject to road; Section 19,
Township 117, Range 21; Lots 1 thru 18, inclusive, including vacated street and
alley, Block 1; Lots 1 thru 25, inclusive, including vacated street and alley,
Block 2; Lots 1 thru 26, inclusive, including vacated street and alley, Block 3;
Lots 1 thru 26, inclusive, including vacated street, Block 4; Lots 1 thru 10,
inclusive, including vacated streets and alleys, Block 13; Lots 1 thru 4, inclusive,
including vacated street, Block 14; all in West Minneapolis Center; Tract A,
Registered Land Survey No. 1465 and southeasterly 20 feet of Lots 5, 6 and 7,
Block 12, West Minneapolis Center, except road; Tract L, Registered Land Survey
No. 561 and Lot 91, Auditors Subdivision No. 239 for all or a portion of the cost
of the improvement pursuant to M.S.A., Secs. 429.011 to Secs. 429.111, as amended,
at an estimated total cost of the improvement of $29,130 for bituminous surfacing
on Jackson Avenue and $251,188 for bituminous or concrete construction on Tyler
Avenue and St. Louis Street; and will further consider the market value before and
after said improvement, of the property affected thereby.
2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement on the .2nd
day of June, 1981 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 7:30 o'clock P.M.,
and the Clerk shall give published notice of such hearing and improvement as
required by law.
