Announcement by HBA of weekly Market DayHOPKINS BETTERMENT ASSOCIATION The Hopkins Betterment Association (HBA) is sponsoring a weekly Market Day in the Downtown area, every Saturday beginning June 6 and continuing through September. The theme of the Market Day is Make It, Bake It, Grow It, Sell It. Market Day is open to anyone who has something to sell, although we do prohibit some items. These are: Liquor, drugs, paraphenalia, porno graphic materials (films, photos or publications), firearms (antique or new). Raffle tickets may not be sold unless a permit is obtained from the Hopkins Council. This is a partial list of prohibited items and the HBA does reserve the right to refuse space. The area in which the Market Day w i l t b e held is on 9th Ave. S south of the Municipal parking lots, to Street. Space is approximately 8 feet by 10 feet and the cost of space is $5.00. On no account will the fee be waived. Please forward the fee with the application form. If you contemplate a garage sale of household goods, etc., we invite you to participate. We particularly ask for fresh produce, bedding plants, and potted plants. We invite church groups, Senior Citizens, and Youth Groups to participate in the form of craft sales and bake sales. We also encourage merchants who have overstock items or trade-ins they would like to dispose of. The HBA requires that you apply to the above Post Office box number about 2 weeks before the date on which you want to participate. You will be advised by the Wednesday prior to that date of your space number. We ask that you accept the number alloted and do not request special spaces near friends, etc. Please do not call the telephone number as it is for emergencies only --we cannot possibly handle calls as we are a volunteer organization. Please join with us to make Market Day a successful enterprise. P. 0. BOX #364 933 jIItU Hopkins Betterment Association
