Notice/ Tabulation of Bids for Construction of Street Improvementsi (Official Publication) CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota NOTICE OF BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS SEALED BIDS will be received by the City Manager at the City Hall, Hopkins, Minnesota, until Thursday, May 28, 1981, at 10:00 A.M., local time, and then and there opened and publicly read, and as soon as possible thereafter, award of a contract will be made by the City for Street Improve- ment Project No's 80:12 -14. Approximate major construction quantities include 5600 lineal feet of concrete curb and gutter, 67000 square feet of sidewalk, 770 ton of bituminous mixture, plus incidental construction. Plans,specifications and further details are available at the office of the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certi- fied Check, or Standard Bidder's Bond written by a corporate surety certified by the Minnesota State Insurance Commission, at ten percent (10 of the total bid price, payable to the City of Hopkins, as a guarantee that the bidder will, if successful, promptly execute a satisfactory contract for the faithful per- formance of the work covered by this specification. The successful bidder shall, within 10 days after oral or written notice by the City, that his bid is accepted (which time may be extended in writing by the City for satisfactory cause shown by the bidder) execute a written contract and furnish a faithful performance surety bond in the sum equal to 100% of the bid, which bond shall also secure the City for a period of not less than one year from date of contract completion against any and all defective materials and workmanship and for timely payment of all contractor's bills. Upon award of the contract, the checks or bidder's bond of the unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them, and upon the filing of the contract and per- formance bond, the check or bid bond of the successful bidder will be returned to him. The attached proposal forms are to be used. Each proposal must be plainly marked, "PROPOSAL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS: 80 :12 -14. In case of default, the City may have the work done by others, and hold the original bidder or contractor liable for increased costs. CITY OF HOPKINS trjj2L 10 V William P.
