CDCC Minutes 5-27-81A meeting of the Community Development Citizen Committee was held on
Wednesday, May 27, 1981, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall.
Present were Chairperson Alcott, members Snyder, Holthus, Damachen and
Community Development Director Kerrigan.
Haitians moved and Snyder seconded the motion, that $50,000 of Entitlement
Program income from land sale of R -46 land to Hagen be programmed to the
Community Center line item to undertake items 1 -8, 12,13, 14, 10 (west
meeting room, if possible) and 9 (items 3 9 to be combined and com-
pleted at a reasonable cost. Motion approved unanimously.
Alcott discussed the possibility of finding space for the Hopkins Loan
Closet. The possibility of remodeling a portion of the locker room at
the Community Center for locating this activity was discussed. It was
decided, however, that this would not be an appropriate location,
Snyder moved, and Holthus seconded the motion, that the staff explore
various sites for housing this activity in Hopkins, specifically the City
Hall, Harley Hopkins, or the Community Center. Motion carried unani-
mously.
Damachen moved and Snyder seconded the motion, that the remaining en-
titlement funds in the legal and program line item, the Dow Towers
Improvement line item and the Comprehensive Neighborhood Improvement line
item and the program income received from the sale of the R -46 land to
Hagen (including those earmarked for the Community Center) be programmed
in the Housing Rehabilitation Loan /Grant Program. Motion carried un-
animously.
Snyder moved and Holthus seconded the motion, that $24,818.17 transferred
from the Tree Program line item in August 1980, to the Community Center
line item be retained in that line item with no reimbursement of program
income from the recent R -46 land sale to the Tree Program line item.
Motion carried unanimously.
