Recommendations to Cty Council from CDCC for approvalThe Community Development Citizens Committee met on April 29th and
May 27th. As a result of these meetings a number of items are being re-
commended to the City Council for approval. These items are as follows:

1. $50,000 of program income from the land sale of the R -46
land to Hagen be programmed to the Community Center line
item to undertake the following items
a) Replace existing light fixtures in hallway entrance
b) Install suspended ceiling in hallway and entrance
c) Construction of storage closet /partitions in the
kitchen (and if possible, additional remodeling of
kitchen to facilitate meal preparation to accommodate
more than one group
d) Replace 22 single strength windows with insulated
windows
e) Install suspended ceiling and panel lights in game room
f) Carpet four rooms and hallway
g) Install 2 exterior benches
h) Install 2 radiator covers
i) Venetion blind curtains for east west windows
j) Remove six sections of lockers in hallway and install
shelves
k) Prop ceiling in kitchen hallway area
1) Room air conditioning in west meeting room (if financially
possible)
2. Entitlement funds remaining in the Legal Aid program line
item, the Dow Tower improvement line item, the Comprehensive
Neighborhood Improvement Program and the program income from
the sale of the R -46 land sale to Hagen (excluding those ear-
marked for the Community Center) be programmed in the Housing
Rehabilitation Loan /Grant Program.
3. That $25,818.17 transferred from the Tree Program line item
to the Community Center line item in August 1980, be retained
within that line item with no reimbursement of the tree removal
activity with program income from the recent sale of the R -46
land.
4. Revision of the Housing Rehabilitation Grant eligibility income
limits and maximum grant amount limit. The present income
eligibility income limit is $6000 /yr. adjusted gross income.
The maximum grant limit is $5,000. As recommended by the
committee the maximum grant amount limit would be increased
to $8,000, with the eligibility limits being changed to comply
with the existing HUD Sec. 8 Very Low Income limits.
