Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:40 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members, Brausen, Youakim, Halverson, Rowan, and City Manager Rick Getschow
Council member Youakim asked if there was an update on the emerald ash borer. City Manager stated
that there may not be since the last update but he will follow -up.
Council member Brausen asked for further information on the Dow Towers window project.
Council member Brausen stated that it would be a good idea if the city promoted the fact that we were a
finalist for the NLC city excellence award for the Blake Rd. corridor project.
Mayor Maxwell stated that it may be a good idea for the city to send out letters or flyers to landlords in
the city regarding renters being aware of quality of life issues such as outdoor storage, noise and
recreational fires. City Manager Getschow stated that a good time to do this would be with the rental
license registration in late September /October. Mayor Maxwell also stated that he noticed that there
were post cards that were sent out ahead of city inspections and thought that this was a good idea.
City Manager Getschow gave an update on the faith community "days of service" event that will be
occurring on October 3r and October 4th.
City Manager Getschow gave an update on the Hopkins in Motion event that will be occurring on
Saturday, September 12
With no further business, a motion was made by Brausen, seconded by Halverson to adjourn the meeting. The
motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 pm.
