Approve a New On -Sale Wine and On -sale 3.2% Malt Liquor
(Wine and Strong Beer) License for Brazilian Connection Co,
DBA Samba - Taste of Brazil, 922 Mainstreet
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve an On -Sale Wine
and On -Sale 3.2% Malt Liquor (wine and strong beer) license for Brazilian Connection
Co. dba Samba — The Taste of Brazil with the condition that the Hopkins Police
Department finds no reason to deny the license.
Overview
Jose Pantano has leased the space where Gusto's Restaurant was located. Mr.
Pantano will be serving Brazilian food. The wine and strong beer will complement this
menu.
A certificate of insurance showing Liquor Liability has been submitted. The Police have
not completed the background investigation at the time of this report. The license
would not be granted if the Police find a reason to deny.
Primary Issues to Consider
There is no limit to the number of wine licenses that the City may issue. This is a
routine application.
