SUBJECT: Dog Kennels
Attached for your review is the ordinance that will only
allow dog kennels in the Industrial Districts. Our
existing ordinance does not address the use of dog
kennels. Also, the definition is changed to be
consistent with the City Code.
Dog Kennels were thought not to be a proper use in the B-
3 district because much of the B -3 abuts residential
districts.
Your action is to set a public hearing for the ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Hopkins as
follows:
That Section 515 of the Hopkins Zoning Ordinance be and the
same is hereby amended by revision and there is hereby
enacted and adopted in place thereof the following sub-
section:
That the Hopkins Zoning Ordinance No. 540 be and the same is
hereby amended by adding the following provisions:

Subd. 21 Commercial kennel: a premises where
three or more animals, at any one time, over three
six months of age are owned, boarded, bred or
offered for sale.
