Memo/Proposed Commercial Kennel Ordinance• CITY OF HOPKINS MEMORANDUM DATE: August 2, 1989 TO: Zoning & Planning Commission FROM: Nancy S. Anderson SUBJECT: Proposed Commercial Kennel Ordinance This is a public hearing for the attached ordinance that would allow commercial kennels in the Industrial Districts. To clear up the confusion of what is an animal, I have added a definition that defines an animal. I also added language that says if the building is a dwelling unit you can have more than 3 animals. However, the City Code only allows residents to have 2 dogs. The added language is consistent with the City Code. The Commission action is to recommend to the Council approval of the proposed ordinance.
