Commission Minutes 4110 A regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission was held on Tuesday, May 26, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Hopkins City Hall. Present were Chairman Pavelka, members Hutchison, Winship, Racek, Day, Chapman, Reuter and Redeppenning. Also present were staff members Nancy Anderson and Lee Gustafson, and City Attorney Jerre Miller. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Pavelka called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. ITEM: Commissionmember Hutchison moved and Commissionmember Day seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the April 28, 1992 meeting. The motion carried unanimously. ITEM: CASE NO: CUP 92 -2 LAND RECLAMATION 236 TYLER AVENUE Public hearing to consider placing more than 400 cubic yards of fill at 236 Tyler Avenue. Staff member Nancy Anderson recommended this item be continued since Don Pobuda has indicated he plans to remove the fill to achieve having only 400 cubic yards on each lot. Commissionmember Reuter moved to continue CUP92 -2 to the June 30th meeting. Motion was seconded by Commissionmember Racek. The motion passed unanimously. CASE NO: CUP 92 -4 AUTO SALES LOT 1714 MAINSTREET Staff member Anderson reviewed the request with the Commission. Carl Hanson, the applicant appeared to present his plans. He stated there would be no service work done on the premises, only sales. The signs and landscaping will be redone. The public hearing was opened at 7:40 p.m. No one appeared in regards to the issue. The public hearing was closed at 7:41 p.m. The anticipated opening date for the business would be as soon as qlIl approval is granted. Zoning and Planning Commission Minutes May 26, 1992 Page 2 le Commissionmember Hutchison moved to approve RZ92 -9 to consider locating an auto sales lot at 1714 Mainstreet. Motion was seconded by Winship. Motion passed unanimously. CASE NO: VAC 92 -1 VACATION PIERCE AVENUE Nancy Anderson reviewed the request with the Commission. She stated that by vacating Pierce Avenue, it would give the applicant an additional 30 feet of property on which to park vehicles which are now being illegally parked on the City street. City Attorney Miller stated that the City can vacate a street if they so wish. A concern was how the vacation will affect drainage on the property because there has been a problem with drainage in the past. Lee Gustafson responded that drainage will not be affected by the vacation. The public hearing was opened at 8:03 p.m. Mr. Holt was concerned that Anderson Millwork would have no place to park. He was assured that they would have more room to park. The public hearing was closed at 8:40 p.m. Commissionmember Hutchison to approve RZ92 -11, the Vacation of Pierce Avenue with an easement to be mutually agreed upon by all parties. He recommended that staff meet with Mr. Holt, Edco, and the applicant on site to show exactly what will take place. The motion was seconded by Commissionmember Winship. The motion passed unanimously. CASE NO: SUBD92 -1 PRELIMINARY PLAT NORTHWEST CORNER OF BLAKE ROAD AND COUNTY ROAD 3 Staff member Nancy Anderson reviewed the request with the Commission. She recommended that the plat include some housekeeping items to clean up the title because of the many lots currently existing. The public hearing was opened at 8:50 p.m. No one appeared in regards to the issue. The public hearing was closed at 8:51 p.m. Commissionmember Hutchison moved to approve RZ92 -10, the preliminary 0 plat for the shopping center at the northwest corner of Blake Road and County Road 3.
