MemoMEMORANDUM DATE: October 20, 1987 TO: Zoning and Planning Commission FROM: Nancy S. AndersonfJSA SUBJECT: Super Valu Freezer Addition This plan is for your information, no action is required. Super Valu has decided to build the freezer addition in phases. The first phase is approximately one -half of the total addition. The building remains the same as before and will be built as proposed in the Conditional Use Permit except only one -half at this time. The dotted line shows the existing building which will be demolished. The enclosed plan shows the freezer addition Super Valu is intending to build now. The truck facility at the perishable warehouse will probably not start construction until this spring. • • • I LEIIVMEIKK ARCHITECTURE 1 ENGINEERING 11840 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 Mad Address: Box 1243, Minneapolis, MN 55440 T cicphunc: 612- 828 -4500 October 13, 1987 Jim Kerrigan Director of Planning City of Hopkins 1010 South First Street Hopkins, MN 55343 RE: Freezer Addition Minneapolis Division Hopkins, MN Project #4087.04 Dear Jim: Super Valu Stores, Inc. is considering reducing the size of their freezer addition in Hopkins, Minnesota, due to financial cutbacks. The addition would extend about 66' west instead of 130'. The loading docks and office would still be on the south side. The compressor room would remain on the north side of the building. The enclosed site plan and floor plan show the proposed construction. There would be less demolition required on the Farmhand Building. We propose to temporarily park the tractors in the east bay instead of the west bay of the Farmhand Building. Please let us know if the city will require Super Vaiu to proceed through planning and council hearings. Thank you.
