ATTORNEYS AT LAW Mr. Craig Rapp City of Hopkins 1010 South First Street Hopkins, MN 55343 Dear Craig: EGS: sb Enclosure 930 LUMBER EXCHANGE TEN SOUTH FIFTH STREET, MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55402 (612) 339 -7633 June 3, 1986 Very truly yours, 'JUN JUN 04 1988 I would suggest that Hopkins consider adding a section called Prohibited Uses to its zoning ordinance in between Sections 427.38 and 427.39. That section could be considered 427.38(a) if you wish to avoid renumbering all the sections. This section would read as follows: Waste facilities shall be prohibited uses in all zoning districts. I am enclosing a copy of the Fridley and Bloomington ordinances. As you can see, the Fridley ordinance on page 2 of 5 -17 prohibits sanitary landfills. It does it, however, as part of an environmental quality section. We might wish to follow that pattern and include our prohibition in an environmental quality section of the Hopkins ordinance if such a section exists. If such a section does not exist, we might want to consider adding one. I look forward to talking about this with you at greater length the week of June 16th. PEPIN DAYTON HERMAN GRAHAM & GETTS, P.A.
