Re: Hopkins Honda - Hopkins Theatre
The development of the Hopkins Theatre into' an auto dealership by
Hopkins Honda will change some traffic patterns in the area. Some of this
change will not be all bad. There is a.quite frequent problem when people
come to the second show and the first hasn't let out yet. There is also
the problem of the increase in traffic after the last movie when some in
the area have retired. An auto dealership wouldn't generate that type of
traffic. It would be steadier all day with no great late night rush.
We met with Mr. Cooper and discussed traffic movement and parking
in the area. No changes at this -time are recommended in the moving traffic
control. Proposed parking regulations suggested are:
• - 2 Hour Parking on the east side of 5th Avenue, north of the
service entrance
- No Parking on the east side of 5th Avenue, south of the
service entrance
- No change on the west side of 5th Avenue
- No Parking either side of First Street North, north
of the theatre site
- 1 Hour Parking for 4 cars west of the Excelsior Avenue
driveway on Excelsior Avenue
