Subject: Signs for Commercial Uses in Residential Districts
This item was referred to the Commission by the City Council at
their last meeting. Basically they are asking the Commission to look at
a possible ordinance change which would require commercial uses in resi-
dential areas requesting signage exceeding what is allowed in a residential
district to receive approval of a Conditional Use Permit. Presently in this
situation, approval of a variance is required. An amendment of this type
would help the City to better deal with applications for signage such as
Zion Lutheran Church recently requested.
