Signage of the KSTP BillboardSeptember 12, 1985

From: Nancy Anderson
Subject: Signage of the KSTP Billboard
The Mayor has asked the Zoning and Planning Commission to
make suggestions for the signage on the KSTP billboard located at
Highway 18 and Excelsior Boulevard. The enclosed sketch was sub -
mitted by Arthur Dean, this signage is only a suggestion of what
could be done. It is up to the Commission members to decide what
wording and colors would be appropriate for the signage.
The staff has had a concern if an arrow is to be put on
the billboard 4l_ southbound car would see the billboard after the
Hopkins exit.' Driving northbound a driver would see the billboard
before the exit but an arrow may tend to direct people to the east
end of Hopkins, because there is no directional sign to downtown on
the exit ramp. If the intent of an arrow is to direct cars to down-
town Hopkins this arrow would not seem to serve this purpose.
