7il/�ktLP,Ctd, Empty Bowls is an international grassroots project to raise funds for
local food shelves; and
Vk=", the eleven years of Empty Bowls has raised $455,144; and
7V4W,, Q, 31.5% of Hopkins School District students receive free or reduced
price lunches. ICA distributed 894,168 pounds of emergency food in 2009, an
increase of 35% over 2008. Financial aid increased 35% last year to a total of
$456,173 for rent, mortgage and utilities and
7r/4w,", our goal is to raise $60,000 for the emergency funds of the
Intercongregation Community Association (ICA) and the Hopkins Minnetonka
Family Resource Center; and
?p4 mu, Empty Bowls is hosting the 12th annual event, inviting everyone to
come to the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Tuesday, March 16 to choose a bowl
from among 1000 bowls created by local artist and students, eat your choice of
soup and bread donated by our businesses. You can make a generous free will
donation; and

hereby proclaim Tuesday, March 16, 2010:
In the City of Hopkins, and does also encourage all citizens to participate in the
activities associated with Empty Bowls Day.
