letter - Strogen• • July 13, 1982 Mr. John J. Strojan, City Engineer City of Hopkins 1010 South First Street Hopkins, Minnesota 55343 Dear Mr. Strojan: Thank you for your notification and summary regarding the petition in front of the City Council suggesting making our alley a one -way. As our parking area adjoins First Street, we usually enter and exit onto First for convenience sake as well as avoiding negotiating the right angle turn. It would be fair to estimate that by making our alley a one -way, our studio alone would generate enough trips daily to send twenty to forty vehicles by the Kosanda's residence which are currently not even using the south end of the alley. Furthermore, it should be mentioned that most trucks are unable to handle this turn, especially in inclement weather. So in all due respect to Mr. Kosanda, I am afraid making our alley a one- way would defeat the purpose of his petition, while greatly complicating a situation where no real problem seems to exist. 1111 11111 s Mary VY!
