Steel trusses with 2 x 6 wood rafters, roof boards and three
layers of asphalt roof shingles with skylights at ridge be-
tween steel trusses
2 x 6 rafters are broken and cracked below skylights, roof
boards discolored and weakened from moisture leaks around
the skylights. Roof shingles need to be replaced.
2 x 6 rafters are over spanned and with the moisture problem
became weak and some broke and others show deflection. To
repair this condition I would recommend replacing the first
three 2 x 6 rafters at the bottom of the skylights and doubling
the first one. The rest of the 2 x 6 rafters should be doubled
as necessary to meet the allowable span.
