Council Report 2010-131
APPROVE SECOND AMENDMENT TO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
9 MILE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT
CITY PROJECT NO. 2006-05
Proposed Action
Staff recommends the following motion: "Move that Council adopt Resolution 2010-079, Resolution Approving
Amendment to Cooperative Agreement with 9 Mile Creek Watershed District."
Overview
At the May 2, 2006, meeting, the Hopkins City Council petitioned the 9 Mile Creek Watershed District to
improve 9 Mile Creek with a bank stabilization project. Since that time, contamination has been found in the
creek. This amendment formalizes the financial responsibilities for the study and remediation work in the
petitioned project. The City's contribution capped at $25,000 out of what will minimally be $200,000 of work.
The remaining portion of the work will be funded through Hennepin County and State of Minnesota Grants and
• by the Watershed District. To date, $60,000 in grants have been secured.
