CR 11-002 Approve 2011 Local 49 ContractJanuary 4, 2011 Council Report 2011-002 APPROVE 2011 LOCAL 49 CONTRACT Proposed Action Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move approval of the 2011 Contract with LOCAL #49 representing Hopkins' Public Works Employees This action will ratify the 2011 contract with the Public Works employees. Overview The contract calls for a 0% wage increase effective January 1, 2011. Local 49 received a 3% wage increase in 2010. This was the third year of a three year contract agreed to in December of 2007. The Sergeants, HMEA, and the Dispatchers all agreed to a 0% increase in 2010. HMEA and the Dispatchers have signed contracts which call for a 2% wage increase in 2011. Local 49 will not receive a wage increase in 2011. The contract also provides for identical insurance provisions as were agreed to for HMEA and the Dispatchers for 2011. Pay and benefit increases will be included in the next payroll. 2. Do not approve the contract. Staff would have to renegotiate the contract. Staff recommends Alternative #1.
