Subject: City Manager Search Firm
Staff recommends that the Hopkins City Council adopt a motion authorizing the Mayor to sign an
agreement with the firm Brimeyer Fursman to provide assistance to the City in searching for and
hiring a new City Manager.

Typical expenses include copies and supplies, position advertising
(League Web Sites, ICMA, Minnesota City Managers Association,
Linked -IN) personality/management assessment profiles,
credential and criminal background checks, etc. The expenses are
for 5 finalists. Expenses for additional finalists will be billed at
$300 each.
This estimate does not include costs associated with candidates'
expenses for the final interview. These expenses are influenced by
the following factors: number of candidates invited to interview,
location of candidates, spouse and family attendance, meals and
hotel accommodations provided.

community and/or conduct public forums. Develop and present

Payment Policy Our payment policy is one-third of the fee due upon signing
this agreement; one-third after presentation of the Progress
Report; and the balance due io days after the search has
successfully been completed, whether the agreement is oral
or written. In the event the City Council terminates this
agreement during the search, we will retain the progress
payments to that point.
