Support Environmental Cleanup Grant Application
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: "Move that Council adopt
Resolution No. 2011-016, supporting the Nine Mile Creek Watershed Districts
application for an environmental cleanup grant from Hennepin County."
Overview
During the construction of the Nine Mile Creek Bank Stabilization project,
contaminated soils were discovered in the creek corridor. In 2010, the City
received investigation grant dollars from the Count which helped pay for the
remediation action plan submitted to the PCA for approval. The grant dollars
being applied for now will support the watershed district's remediation efforts.
• There is no cost to the City for supporting this application.
