7l%4w", the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, though it's Constitution, is
a Patriotic Order; and
V4VxU, the Order promotes the ideals that the citizens of this nation live in
freedom, won though the great sacrifices and many tribulations which
have provided the foundation for a free, prosperous and independent life; and
7il%4W44, we realize that each generation must work to maintain this freedom,
otherwise, through carelessness or indifference, the rights and liberties
enjoyed may vanish; and
?v4u dd, the Hopkins Elks are a visible, well-respected organization for 50 years that
plays an important role in our community through such events as the St.
Patrick's Day Parade, Tree Lighting Ceremony at Hopkins Downtown Park,
• Flag Day, Youth Scholarships and the Raspberry Festival.
Z0, 7444w, in recognition of these accomplishments, be it resolved that I,
Eugene J. Maxwell, Mayor of the City of Hopkins, do hereby proclaim May 6,

In the City of Hopkins, I urge all citizens to join with the Benevolent and Protective Order of
Elks in expressing gratitude for the privilege of our American Citizenship
