CR 11-047 Award of Bid - Hwy 169/Excelsior Blvd EVP Signal Upgrade• City of Hopkins June 7, 2011 Council Report 2011-047 AWARD OF BID - HWY 169/EXCELSIOR BLVD EVP SIGNAL UPGRADE CITY PROJECT 2011-07 Proposed Action Staff recommends the following motion: "Move that Council adopt Resolution 2011-026, Resolution for Award of Bid, Hwy 169/Excelsior Blvd EVP Signal Upgrade, City Project 2011-07" Overview The bid opening for the Hwy 169/Excelsior Blvd EVP Signal Upgrade was held on May 26, 2011. The low bid was submitted by Electrical Installation and Maintenance Company in the amount of $39,900. We received 3 bids. The low bid is $4,100 below the engineers estimate. The contractor is a reliable company with similar experience in the metro area. Staff is recommending award of the project contract to Electrical Installation and Maintenance Company. While working with Electrical Installation and Maintenance Company in the past, we found that their work and end product were acceptable.
