Council Report 2011-073
Approve a New Liquor License for Hopkins 1022 Enterprises, LLC,
1022 Mainstreet
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Approve an on sale liquor license,
Sunday sales and 2:00 a.m. closing for Hopkins 1022 Enterprises, LLC, dba Wild Boar
located at 1022 Mainstreet and waive the unpaid fees.
Overview
The ownership of Hopkins1022 Enterprises, LLC has changed. James O'Meara has
become a part owner of the business. State Statute requires a new liquor license
application when the ownership of the licensed corporation changes by 10%. Mr.
O'Meara is the owner of 27% of the Corporation.
A fee of $500 was receipted for the background investigation. Staff is recommending
that the additional unpaid fees be waived because the corporation has just paid renewal
fees for the license year ending on June 30, 2012.
The Hopkins Police have done an investigation and have found no reason to deny. A
Certificate of Insurance showing liquor liability has been submitted.
Alternatives
1. Approve the application for an on sale liquor licenses
2. Continue the item for more discussion
3. Deny the application
Staff recommends alternative one.
