SUBJECT: 2011 Hopkins Community Image Awards (HCIA)
Each year the City of Hopkins recognizes certain properties for their contribution toward the
image of the community. Nominations were sought through August, and a review committee
voted to determine which nominated properties would receive an award. Review committee
members included Amanda Birnstengel, Marlene Hunkins, Aaron Kuznia, Peter Sholtz and Stacy
Unowsky.
• Nominations are grouped in three categories (Commercial/Industrial/Office, Multi -Family
Residential, and Single -Family Residential), and each property that receives at least four of the
five review committee votes is awarded. There is no limit to the number of awards that can be
selected, but winners from the last 10 years are not considered.
The attached slideshow highlights this year's HCIA winners. Following is a list of the winners:
Commercial Winners: Holiday Stationstores, 530 Blake Road; Tuttle's Eat Bowl Play,
107 Shady Oak Road; Wrap City Graphics, 62 Sixth Avenue South
Multi -family Winner: Fraser Hopkins Court, 41 Sixth Avenue North
Residential Winners: Jean Hammond, 338 Eighth Avenue North; Mike & Joan Opitz,
