2012 CAPITAL FUNDS PROGRAM
Proposed Action
HRA Report 2012-03
Staff recommends the following motion: adopt Resolution 484, authorizing HRA Chair
and Executive Director to accept and use the 2012 Capital Funds.
With approval of this motion, HRA Board Chair and the Executive Director will
implement the proper planning and procurement process to utilize the $62,869 the HRA
will receive in 2012 Capital Funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
Overview
The HRA was recently notified of the availability of the annual Capital Fund Program for
2011. This year the allocation was reduced by almost $10,000 over the amount we
were given in 2011. This is due to the cuts to the Federal Capital Fund Program Budget
for all Housing Authoritys, and each HRA will receive decreased funds this year.
Primary Issue to Consider
Why do we need to act?
The guidance provided to the Hopkins HRA from the HUD field office indicates
that a resolution accepting and authorizing the use of these funds is strongly
encouraged.
Supporting Information
• HRA Resolution 484
• Amendment to the Annual Contribution Contract
• HUD -50075.1 Annual Statement for 2012 Funds
Alternatives
The HRA has the following alternatives regarding this issue:
1. Approve the action as recommended by staff.
2. Continue for further information.
