RE LUTION ESTABLISHING PUBLIC PARK IN THE
CT'TY OF HOPKINS AI�ID AUTHORIZING �
CQUISITION OF SITE TI�.REFOR AND TI-�
STRUCTION AND TI-IE DEVELOPMENT Tf-IEREOF

WI-�REA.S, erous cii�izens and residents of the City of Hopkins,
as well as civic or izations, have from time to time urged the City Council
of the City o� Hopki to provide a suitable downtown city park in Hopkins, and
WHEREAS, t e Park Board o� the City of Hopkins and the Cor�ummity
Development Citizens Advisory Coi►unission and the Zoning and Planning Cormnission
and the City Plannerlof and for the City of Hopkins have made preliminary studies
. and inspections conc rning the availability and the feasibility of a creation of
a downtown City parklin the City of Hopkins, and
Wf�REAS, b resolution of the Park Board of the City of Hopkins
� the City Cowicil has been urged to acquire title for such park purposes of the
following described remises situated in Hennepin County, ?�Linnesota, viz:
Lots 10, 1 and 12 and Lots 23, 24 and 25, ��: �
BloCk 5, 1�l st i�'Iinneapolis
and thereafter irrm►ed cause the construction of a public park thereon, and
WI-�REAS, t City Council concurs with the opinions of the various
persons and organiza ions hereinabove named.
NOW, T�-IERE RE, it is hereby resolved b}� the City Council of the
City of Hopkins as f llows:
1. That t City of Hopkins shall acquire the title to the
premises hereinabove escribed for the purpose of constructing and maintaining
thereon a public parl.
2. That s�'d premises shall be appraised by at least one competent
appraiser and the fa�. and market value thereof thus determined.
� 3. That tlp City Attorney of the City of Hopkins shall acquire said
premises for said pu oses by negotiation or by action in Eminent Domain.
4. That th Park Board of the City of Hopkins shall and are hereby
authorized to secure'I he services of suitable park planners to devise a plan for
such a downtown City ark, ' _
