RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION 0� CERTAIN
LANDS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH HOPKINS INDUSTRIAL
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT BY NEGOTIATION,PURCHASE,
OR CONDEMNATION IN EMINENT DOMAIN FOR AND IN
� BEHALF OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA.
WHE AS, on February 7, 1978, the City Council of the City
of Hopkins, ursuant to its Resolution No. 77-2646, determined and
resolved to dopt a Hopkins Redevelopment Program in the downtown
central busi ess district all within the meaning of MSA 462.421; and
WH AS, in the furtherance of the plan heretofore adopted,
it is necessa y for the City of Hopkins Housing and Redevelopment
Authority to cquire certain parcels of land as a portion of the Hopkins
Redevelopment Program set forth in previous resolutions of the City
Council whic land is located in South Hopkins Industrial Redevelopment
District.
NO , THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of
the City of H pkins and by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of
the City of H pkins as follows:
1. hat it is necessary in the furtherance of the plan of
� rehabilitati and redevelopment in the City of Hopkins and in the
public iriter t for public purposes set forth and allowed in the Statutes
of the State f Minnesota, that the City immediately acquire by negotia-
tion and purc ase or by an action in condemnation under the Laws of
Eminent Domai the title to the following described premises situated
in Hopkins, nnepin County, Minnesota, viz:
Pa el 1- Lots 23 and 24, Block 2, L. P. Creviers
First Addition to West Minneapolis;
Par el 2- Lot l, Block 3; L. P. Creviers First Addn.
to West Minneapolis
Par''el 3- Lots 7- 18, Block 3; L.P. Creviers First Addn.
to West Minneapolis
Par el 4- Lots 3, 4, and 21, Block 4, L.P. Creviers
First Addn. to West Minneapolis
Par el 5- Lots 5 thru 20, Elock 4, L.P. Creviers
First Addn. to West Minneapolis
. 2, hat the City Manager and the City Attorney of the City
of Hopkins is hereby ordered,authorized and empowered to acquire the
above premise as hereinabove set forth at not more than the fair and
reasonable ma ket value of said premises and that upon such acquisitions
the proper of icers of the City of Hopkins are hereby authorized and
empowered to 'ssue funds of the City of Hopkins to pay for the cost of
such acquisit`ons including all reasonable expenses necessarily spent
in connection therewith.
3. hat upon the acquisition of the titles to said above des-
cribed premis's it is hereby further resolved that the presently existing
structures, d ellings and other buildings located thereon shall be com-
pletely razed,and removed therefrom at the expense of the City of Hopkins.
4. hat thereafter the City Manager and the City Attorney is
hereby author zed for and on behalf of the City of Hopkins to accept
offers for all or parts of the premises described in Parcel 1, it being
understood that such offers shall be by bona fide prospective purchasers

whose intent nd purpose shall be the immediate redevelopment by con-
struction of uitable commercial buildings and other structures thereon
and that no d fer shall be accepted from any offeror except �or the
purposes her�'nabove set forth.
